I joined this industry in 2021, after spending several years in the auto industry as a car salesman building my business up from scratch. I was juggling multiple jobs on top of that and making good money too but still felt like something was missing. I wanted to make more money, leverage my time better, and find emotional fulfillment.
That’s when a longtime friend, David Alvarado, introduced me to the insurance business. I was ready to commit and give it my all. In my first year, I made $333K and was awarded Rookie of the Year. Since then, I’ve become the number one IUL producer in Symmetry, and I’m proud of the work I’m doing to help families secure their financial future.
This industry has changed me like night and day. I’ve gone from building a business, only being self-taught, to following a proven system and succeeding beyond my wildest dreams. But what I love most about this industry is the opportunity to connect with like-minded people and help them achieve their financial goals. I’ve learned how to better understand others, how to communicate in a positive manner, as well as build and lead a team with a strong culture. Ultimately, It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the impact I’m making in people’s lives.
Coming from a military background, I learned the values of LEADERSHIP – Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage – which I use to guide me in all aspects of my life. After I served, I got into the home and auto insurance industry for 13 years. In 2017, I transitioned into the life insurance industry where I found my true passion. In my first year, I successfully produced $116K in APV. Now, I currently mentor 4 agents as a Team Leader and I’m working towards becoming an Agency Owner soon.
I want to provide education of these products and bring awareness to underclass families who never had that opportunity. Being Hispanic and bilingual, I’m committed to reaching out to the Spanish community to be an advocate for the wives and children who don’t have a voice. This agency has helped me surround myself with like-minded individuals that help enhance my natural leadership traits and give me clarity on how I can achieve that success that I’ve always desired but never knew how. I believe that the insurance industry is an excellent platform to make a positive impact on people’s lives, and I am proud to be a part of it. I will continue to work hard to provide education and awareness to those who need it most because death is inevitable.
I originally joined the insurance industry back in 2011 after going through a major layoff with the pharmaceutical industry that I had been a part of for 10 years. After going back and forth I chose to make insurance my focus in 2020 right at the start of the pandemic. It was a tough call but I decided to focus the second half of my career on an option that enabled me to truly run my business as my own.
The most amazing thing about this industry is even though I was making six figures as a corporate trainer and specialty agent in the medical field, I quickly matched my income and discovered a newfound passion for helping families and individuals in a different capacity. This includes adapting to advanced markets, building a team of producers, and training my fellow agents that I have the pleasure of working alongside every day.
When I look back over the last few years, I see how this industry has helped shape my consultative approach, not only with clients but also with my peers. It’s a tremendous feeling to see the evolution in not only yourself, but those you work with, and it’s beyond fulfilling knowing you had a direct role in that.
After Josh’s dream of becoming a professional baseball player came to an end, he made a decision to use his coaching and leadership skills that he acquired through baseball to put them into building an agency.
In less than 2 years, he became an agency owner and He has one of the top agencies that specializes in advanced sales and now exceeds nearly 4 million per year in APV.
He has a passion for coaching others and pushing them to their full potential which mimics his strength and conditioning experience.
